Policy Governance is a governing model that has been adopted by the Jordan School District Board of Education. Under this model, Board members developed a series of policies specifically for the Board and separate from the District’s administrative policies. They are designed to define the Board and its practices and purpose, empower the Board to fulfill the obligation of accountability and enable the Board to focus on the larger issues, to delegate with clarity, to control the District administration’s job without meddling, and to evaluate the accomplishments of the organization. The policies were officially adopted on September 25, 2012.
